ISAMS instrument: Improved Stratospheric and Mesospheric Sounder
The ISAMS instrument was launched on the UARS satellite from the Discovery space shuttle on 15 September 1991, . ISAMS was an infrared radiometer for observing thermal emissions at the limb of the Earths atmosphere. A radiometry technique using pressure modulation was used to determine vertical temperature profiles and mixing ratios for CO, H2O, CH4, O3, HNO3, N2O5, NO2, N2O and aerosols.
Two types of data available:
- level 3AT (temporal selection).
lastest versions provided: V9 (H2O) et V10 for datasets from 1991-09-26 to 1992-07-29.
- correlative data: géopotential, meridional wind, zonal wind, humidity, temperature.
lastest versions provided: V2 (geopotential, temperature) et V1 for datasets from 1991-09-12 to 1993-12-31.
